To keep our hearts from everything that can cause it to lose life, we have to guard it against every effort of the enemy to reach it through the dictates of our natural senses; primarily, via our eyes and ears. This demands the constant use of the breastplate of faith and love to shield our hearts from every thought and imagination of the devil, so we can focus on the dictates of the Spirit of God through our spirit, and thereby appreciate in the formation of the mind of Christ in our soul.
